The building’s architecture is shaped by its separation into individual units based on functional and spatial considerations. The free composition of the building on the ground floor with an event and exhibition space on top is executed in a manner that is clearly legible from the outside. The administrative office, which features a different spatial structure, and the restaurant are detached from the building and placed in front of the museum as individual elements.

An event area situated in front of the galleries can be integrated with them as an additional exhibition space if needed or function separately on its own.

A spacious central hall leads to the galleries. The hall’s ample glazing creates a link to the outside which is rather unusual for museums, and it can be included as an open space within the exhibition areas. It also provides the opportunity to host several exhibitions at the same time. Sliding doors enable museum staff to open or close exhibition spaces as needed. The exhibition spaces themselves are built without supports or columns, which means their layout can be adapted and slightly modified at any time to meet the museum’s needs.
