The most striking defects in the existing layout of the Lido area are its poor state of preservation and the resulting character of the rear courtyard, as well its fragmentary usage.
The most important step in terms of urban planning will therefore be to demolish all small buildings including the existing apartment building and the old family hostel, followed by a concentration of its uses.
These will now be located in an extension of the old boat hall, a new construction on the boot hall and a new, downsized annex in the northern area of the swimming pool. By increasing the surface area of the boat hall, there will also be enough room for the outdoor ice skating rink, including a small spectator stand.

In the east, the existing marina with its wild jetty landscape will be partially demolished. A second dam will be filled using the rubble, which will ring the marina together with the existing dam. However, this second dam will not only provide the marina with additional protection, it will also extend the shoreline. Of this extended shoreline, more than 160 metres will comprise a new reed belt, meaning that, in spite of intensive use of the paths, three sand beaches and a fire area, there will be a significant environmental improvement in the shallow water area.
